The article is devoted to 7 Money Hacks You Should Know. Unless you’re Bill Gates, you probably try to save money no matter where you go. Instead of boring you with the same coupon clipping or shopping clearance tips, I wanted to give you some money hacks that you may have never heard about or even thought about trying! With that being said, here are seven cool ways to save your money:

7 Money Hacks You Should Know

Pack your lunch

When you start working a 9 to 5 job, always make sure that you attempt to pack a lunch. For those who are lazy, consider setting aside one day of the week (preferably Sunday) and pack five lunches for the week. Add a sandwich, some chips, fruit and a few goodies to keep you full for the day. By doing this, you can easily save $5 to $10 a day. Over 52 weeks, that’s a potential savings of $2,600.

When in doubt, walk away

Have you ever walked into a store and though to yourself, “Wow! That thing is amazing, I want to buy it!” If you’re shaking your head yes, was that purchase more than $100? If so, you could be spending money you don’t need to. For starters, most of your items in a store are going to be more expensive online. On top of that, what happens if you bought
something that received lousy reviews? Make it a habit to purchase something that you have heavily researched. Also, try to wait a week before making that purchase.

Watch your spouse

If you haven’t married someone yet, make sure that you learn about their financial abilities. They could be the coolest person in the world, but if they don’t know how to manage their money, you could soon be marrying a financial disaster! With that being said, make sure that you choose your spouse wisely.

Dump the habits

Yes, this is simple advice but so many people don’t do it. Smoking a few cigarettes a day or drinking a handful of beers every night can add up so fast! Even stopping by the bar twice a week can add up before you know it. Also, don’t forget about that soda pop, either! It’s time to quit the bad habits and throw that savings in the bank for your child’s future
college fund.

Track your finances

If you don’t know where your money is going monthly, it’s time to sit down and create a budget. Services such as Mint or even something simple as Excel can show you what you’re spending your money on day by day. By doing this it can potentially be a real eye opener. Find out what you’re spending money on that you shouldn’t be spending money on and change that!

Compile the transportation

While we all can’t live in a bigger city, try your best to avoid the car as much as possible. Instead, either turn to public transit or even a bike. If you can’t walk or bike anywhere, try to limit your trips. So if you have to go to the doctor’s office, the grocery store and Target, you should do it all at once rather than three times a week. Better yet, if
you pass these places after work, consider stopping by on the way home.

Set up a spending account

As the old rule goes, “Pay yourself first and the bills last.” With that rule, try your best to set up two accounts. For one account, leave that for the bills each month. By now, you should know what you’re going to have to set aside for the month. As for the spending account, use that money for whatever you wish. Also, don’t forget to save as well!

Well, there you have it! These are seven simple money hacks you should take advantage of today to save big. If you have any, I would love to hear them!
